Post Spray Tan Care
To maintain and prolong your spray tan, follow these post-care instructions:
Immediately After Your Spray Tan
1. Avoid Water Contact: Do not shower, sweat, or swim for a certain amount of hours (your technician will instruct) to allow the tan to develop fully.
2. Wear Loose Clothing: Tight clothing can rub off the tanning solution, leading to uneven results. Opt for dark, loose-fitting garments.
3. Avoid Skin-to-Skin Contact: This helps prevent smudging or transferring the solution, especially in areas like underarms or where skin folds.
First Shower
1. Rinse with Lukewarm Water: Use lukewarm water (not hot) for your first rinse, and avoid soap. You’ll notice some bronzer washing off—this is normal.
2. Pat Dry: Gently pat your skin dry with a towel instead of rubbing to avoid streaking.
Daily Care
1. Moisturize Daily: Hydrated skin helps your tan last longer. Use an oil-free moisturizer morning and night. Avoid products containing alcohol, which can dry out the skin.
2. Avoid Exfoliation: Don’t use scrubs, loofahs, or harsh soaps that can remove the tan.
3. Limit Chlorine and Saltwater: Pools and ocean water can cause your tan to fade faster.
Extending the Tan
1. Use a Gradual Tanning Lotion: A gradual tanner can help maintain and deepen your color.
2. Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to keep your skin from drying out.
3. Avoid Harsh Products: Stay away from products with retinol, AHAs, or acne treatments, as they can strip the tan.
By following these tips, your spray tan can last 5–10 days, depending on your skin type and how well you care for it.
