Spray Tan Care
Hey Bronzed Babe! Let’s talk about all the important things to know about prepping your skin before your spray tan.
Did you know that your spray tan should be the last service to be completed before your event? Babe now you do!
Spray tans are the ultimate way to achieve a sun-kissed glow without the harmful effects of UV rays. Whether you’re prepping for a vacation, wedding, or simply want to boost your confidence, proper preparation is key to ensuring an even, long-lasting tan. Here’s your go-to guide for prepping like a pro:
1. Exfoliate Your Skin (24-48 Hours Before)
To achieve a smooth and streak-free tan, exfoliation is a must. Use a kessa exfoliating glove, paying extra attention to dry areas like elbows, knees, ankles, and feet. This ensures the tanning solution adheres evenly to your skin and prevents patchiness.
2. Shave or Wax in Advance
Hair removal is best done at least 24-48 hours before your spray tan. Shaving or waxing after a spray tan can remove the color prematurely, so get this step out of the way beforehand. I recommend shaving first then exfoliating, because some razors have the moisturizer strip and the exfoliating glove can help remove the residue from the moisturizer strip.
3. Hydrate, but Skip the Lotion on Tanning Day
Hydrated skin holds a tan better, so moisturize regularly in the days leading up to your appointment. However, on the day of your spray tan, avoid applying lotion, oils, or perfumes, as these can act as barriers to the tanning solution.
5. Remove Makeup and Deodorant
Before your spray tan session, ensure your skin is free from any makeup, deodorant, or skincare products. These can block the tanning solution and lead to uneven results.
Preparation is the secret to a flawless spray tan. By following these steps, you’ll maximize your results and enjoy a radiant glow that lasts longer. Remember, the better you prep, the better your tan will look—and the more confident you’ll feel!
Happy tanning loves!
